Move-out clean

An empty home, cleaned to a written checklist

For the days between pack-out and your housing inspection. We clean room by room from a checklist you see before we start.

  • Kitchen: counters, cabinets inside and out, sink, stovetop and range hood

  • Bathrooms: tubs, tile, toilets, mirrors and fixtures

  • Floors vacuumed and mopped, baseboards and doors wiped

  • Closets, shelves, light switches and window sills

  • Small amounts of leftover trash bagged

Empty room with tan carpet, yellow walls and a row of windows

Clean day

How the day goes

  1. 01

Step 1: The crew lead texts you

Mirna, Alvaro or Lionel texts when the crew is on the way, with the arrival time.

  2. 02

    Step 2: A walk-through before we start

We walk the home with the checklist, note damage that was already there and photograph it for both of us.

  3. 03

Step 3: Three or four people, room by room

Top to bottom, then floors last, so nothing is walked over.

  4. 04

Step 4: A last walk and a text

The lead checks each room against the list, locks up and texts you. The guarantee starts then; its terms are on the guarantee page.

Questions

Questions about the move-out clean

When do you clean, and how long does it take?

After the movers finish and before your inspection. A crew of three or four takes about four to seven hours, depending on the size of the home and how much buildup there is.

Do I need to be home?

No. You can meet the crew lead for the handover, leave a key with a neighbor or the housing office, or use a lockbox. Tell us which when you book. For on-post homes we also need to plan the gate; see the PCS timeline.

What if the inspector lists a cleaning item?

Send us the list within 48 hours. If the item is on our checklist for your home, we come back by the end of the next business day and redo it at no charge. The guarantee page has every term.

Inspection date in hand?

Send the date. We'll count back.
